Senator Reed, Senator Whitehouse and Congressman David Cicilline joined with local firefighters and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) officials to announce over $300,000 in new federal funding for the Lime Rock Fire District, the Albion Fire Department, and the Rhode Island Fire Academy’s (RIFA) to purchase needed equipment. The funding was made available through FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFG) and will help provide turn out gear (suits, boots, and helmets) and air packs that are mission critical, as well as new training equipment.
