Senator Reed welcomed Rhode Island World War II veterans to our nation’s capital on March 29. He was joined by former Senator Bob Dole (R-KS), a courageous WWII veteran, as they greeted more than 20 World War II veterans from the Ocean State.
The group traveled from Rhode Island to Washington, DC on a trip sponsored by the Honor Flight Network and the Rhode Island Association of Fire Chiefs.
Speaking at the event, Reed said he was proud to salute these veterans, hear their stories, thank them for their service, and show them the national memorial built in their honor.
