Washington- The New England Association of Schools and Colleges has appointed a new public board member from Rhode Island. Juana Horton, President and CEO of Horton Interpreting Services Incorporated in Providence, was nominated by U.S. Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) and will officially be appointed today. Hortons interpreting service has over 200 professional translators and interpreters who are available 24 hours a day with offices in Providence and Massachusetts. Horton is dedicated to addressing the need to communicate in other languages with an ever-increasing foreign speaking clientele and helping businesses locally and nationwide understand the complexity of translating medical, legal, educational, and marketing materials. Horton, a resident of Providence, attended Southeastern Massachusetts University and is a member of the Massachusetts Medical Interpreters Association, the American Translators Association, the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators and the New England Translators Association. She has been highly effective as Chair of the Hispanic American Chamber of Commerce, an affiliate of the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce. The New England Association of Schools & Colleges, Inc. (NEASC) was founded in 1885 and is the nations oldest regional accrediting association.
