As summer boating season brings more traffic to the Bay, Senator Reed and the Narragansett Fire Department unveiled a new emergency response vessel that will enhance public safety on the water and assist with search and rescue, port security, and marine emergency situations.

Reed, a member of the Appropriations Committee, helped deliver over $380,000 in federal funding to help the Town of Narragansett acquire the new 31-foot fire, rescue, and CBRNE boat (CBRNE stands for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives; and is pronounced “sea-borne”) and provide training to utilize it.
