    Senator Reed visited the Providence Career and Technical Academy's DownCity Design Program, where he visited two programs: Explore Design, which is a design career exploration program funded in part by a REAL JOBS RI grant through the Department of Labor and Training, and Design/Build Studio, supported by United Way of RI, in which youth are designing and building small-scale projects for non-profit clients in Providence.

    Reed Helps Unveil New Path Signs at Rocky Point Park

    Senator Reed joined Warwick Mayor Scott Avedisian, Governor Raimondo, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, Congressman Jim Langevin, Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) Director Janet Coit, and members of Leadership Rhode Island at Rocky Point Park in Warwick to unveil a series of ten newly-installed pathway signs.  The signs depict various sites and attractions that once stood within the iconic amusement park, including the Saltwater Pool, the Shore Dinner Hall and the Skyliner, and they offer a unique opportunity for visitors to reminisce on the historical significance of the park.  A member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Reed earmarked more than $2.25 million in federal funding in the early 2000s to help the state acquire 41 acres of waterfront property at Rocky Point and preserve it as a public recreation area.
