WASHINGTON, DC – Today, after it was reported that President-elect Donald Trump intends to nominate Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt as the next Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Senator Jack Reed (D-RI), a senior member of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior and Environment, which oversees federal funding of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), stated:

“Ideally, the agency charged with safeguarding clean water and clean air would be led by someone who truly believes in environmental protection.  Unfortunately, Mr. Pruitt has a record of undermining clean air and clean water protections and denying climate science.”
