U.S. Senator Jack Reed, Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior and Environment, discusses the impact of sequestration on infrastructure improvement and environmental protection programs across the nation and in Rhode Island. Reed highlighted how these programs support jobs and our local economies, noting that Roger Williams National Memorial Park, while small compared to other National Parks, attracted nearly 51,000 visitors in 2011 and added more than $3.2 million to Rhode Island's economy.
